The European Day of Languages (EDL)



The European Day of Languages (EDL) was first celebrated in 2001 during the European Year of Languages.

The general aim is to draw attention to Europe's rich linguistic and cultural diversity, which has to be encouraged and maintained, but also to extend the range of languages that people learn throughout their lives in order to develop their plurilingual skills and reinforce intercultural understanding.

PLAN OF THE PROJECT

  • SEPTEMBERPresentation of the project and entegrating the students into the project and registering them on Twinspace,
    OCTOBER
    Meeting with the project partners, presenting schools, forming student groups, presenting web2 tools.
    celebration of World Language Day
    NOVEMBER
    The works of posters and logos of the project will be done.
    Competitions will be held for posters and logo of the project.
    DECEMBER
    Deciding the activities and the stories.
    Using Voki application with our students.
    Preparing a pretest with Kahoot and written exams about the words we are going to teach in the stories we choose for the project.
    Using of Learning apps for creating new games 
    Singing and recording the New Year Song and turn into videos.

    JANUARY-FEBRUARY
    Organizing competitions with Kahoot and preparing questionnaires.
    Taking the videos of the dialogues about the story of each team.
    Adding photo collages by using Pizap and other applications with the costumes.
    Preparing mindmaps by using Popplet programme.
    MARCHEvaluating the stories and skill based learning.
    APRILHaving knowledge about vocabulary levels by using games.
    MAYOrganising a competition and live meetings among all the project schools.
